Celebrating the achievements of people over 50 in North Tyneside. The awards are sponsored by Age Concern North Tyneside and presented at a special awards ceremony during the Festival hosted by DFDS Seaways on board the ship ms KING OF SCANDINAVIA. All nominated individuals, and representatives of nominated groups will be invited to the Awards Ceremony, as well as everyone who makes a nomination. This year we are inviting nominations in three categories: · Older People Together – this is to celebrate the achievements of groups (based in North Tyneside and in which at least half the members are over 50) that give older people more opportunities to enjoy life and contribute to the community. · Individual Achievement in Volunteering - for a person aged over 50 who has given a lot to the community in North Tyneside as a volunteer. · First time Personal Achievement - for a person aged over 50 and resident in North Tyneside who has recently taken up a new activity and achieved a personal landmark (in the last 2 years in any subject). Please note that no-one who has been nominated in the previous two years may be nominated again this year. However anyone may nominate, no matter what earlier participation they have had in the Age Takes Centre Stage Awards. We are happy to receive nominations by letter, including the following information · Your name, address and telephone number. · The name and address of the individual or the contact person for the group you are nominating. · The Award for which you are nominating. · The reasons that you think they deserve this award.
